Picking up Momentum!

So I no longer blog here everyday, but still believe it is beneficial to update blogger with more of a personal blog considering my website blog is more geared towards information for the public. I am beginning to feel momentum, some very good stuff has been happening lately I have recently made a deal with a local Nutritional Store Driven Sports Nutrition, this is a very successful store it has a wide selection of products and the way the owner has made the store layout is genius. He has a really good store front and I have a professionally built website, so I asked him if he wanted to partner up and I would sell his products online and we can split the profits, he agreed! This solved a major problem for me, I do not have a wide selection of inventory but want to become a well established online nutritional store, he has a solid local store but not a very well built website.

I have started hitting up Search Engine Optimization very hard, getting up 5 a.m to get a few quiet hours to research and follow the instructions. I also have a great idea for the website, I truly believe it will be a game changer on how customers buy products not only on nutritional online stores, but all retail stores on the Internet! I am working hard on this project and hope to have something tangible very soon.

One of the SEO tips was to create videos, I do get a lot of people who are impressed when they see my product even after they have already reviewed it online, I guess they do realize how big the bottle is, nice the product looks, and how much they actually get in the product. So I made this video I was on the fence about it, at first I wanted to plan the video out and create a script, but I thought I just need to create it and get it out there or I never will.

Above you can see the new shirts we created, trying to get brand name awareness out and t-shirts seemed like a great idea especially for a nutritional store, this way people will see others hopefully at the gym and ask about it. I plan on using the shirt as a marketing tool in other ways as well, giveaways, contest, incentives to buy product in bulk. I thought the money spent here would be better then an add on the radio or etc.

Misc, I'm reading Re-Work right now enjoying it a lot, just got done with Tipping Point <- that book gave me a lot of hope and insight on how something can go from nothing to a viral epidemic with the right people contacted or supporting your product.

Having a Blast, and I am going to keep at it until i'm at the top!

Hope to see you there!

Last day of school... for a while.

Finished a final paper for ethics, 2 assignments in my computer class and the final for computer class as well today. I will not be taking any more classes until I get to Alaska in November.

After the 5 hours of school work was done we took the kids to the park, then stopped by the store on the way home to grab ingredients for dinner, after a couple kids got their baths the day was almost over.

nothing to productive today, I do have the next week off, I plan on creating an e-mail that I can send out to store fronts in the local area and create that e-mai roster I keep talking about. After I look up some promising leads I plan to make a few visits to stores.

I am going to a town about 45 minutes away tomorrow, I know a few vitamin stores I am going to stop by I will bring some product to drop off to them.

schools out forever! ok maybe just a few months.

Discipline

For the third night in the row, I was just laying in bed thinking about what I accomplished today and realized "I didn't write my blog......" I laid their for a few minutes before I made myself get up, I hope the discipline I'm building plays a strong role in my future....

Home
Had a really good workout, during the workout I decided the next step will be to e-mail local vitamin/supplement stores and during my week off show up in person to talk about my product and offer free samples.

Work
slammed with work, stayed a little later then normal. I did get a chance to talk to some very important people while at work today, I think I made a good impression and gave one of them my business card.. only one because I forgot to reload my wallet... fail.

Business
this is my last week of this semester, I have some finals to knock out after that I want to hit the business hard build e-mail list, look for promising leads in the local area, then make it out to those leads to talk to people.

Sleep is good

This is the second time I've been laying in bed and thinking.... "Dang I forgot to do my blog again, time to get up"

I think I have almost completely fought off whatever bug me and my family have been passing around, that is a good thing,

Home
Today was a hectic day I got off work last night at 1030 made it to bed at midnight and had to be in the following morning at 0730, worked all day, then came home and played with the kids and tried to keep the peace because both the kids are still a little fussy from whatever bug we have had.

Work
Busy busy busy, tomorrow a is a normal day, going to go workout in the morning and use that time as a planning session for the next big move.

Business
Taking next week off, going to take tomorrow to really think about the best way to spend my time off and further the business.

Sorry so short, tired and ready for bed.

Cheers,

Mental Giants Nutrition Blog

Today was a bit harder then most, everyone in the house is a little sick, not knocked down to the ground sick but just tired and cranky. This is no fun with a 1 and a 3 year old in the house.

Spent most of the morning playing with the kids trying to keep them out of my wife's hair, was able to check e-mail and start to put together the e-mails of the 60 people who signed up at the Mud Run for free samples.

Home
worked on e-mail list

Work
Survived! I have to be back at work in about 7 hours.... part of the reason this entry is so short. tomorrow is going to be a character building day thats for sure.

business
need to finish compiling the e-mail list and create a e-mail with a discount code to try that campaign and give potential customers a little extra reason to buy.

Lazy Sunday

Not a lot of excitement today, (Besides in the church this morning, we had an awesome service). After church I completed the last of this weeks homework and actually fell asleep after three espresso shots! I think all my activities and lack of sleep may have caught up with me. Then we went to a friends house to have a small group and read the Bible.

No real movement on business stuff today, i'm going to relax and enjoy the family for the remainder of the day.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

MUD RUN!!!!

I'm extremely tired so try not to judge this post to harshly.

We had an awesome day at the Emerald Coast Mud Run Today, I'm pretty wore I got off work late last night and had to get up 0430 to pack up drive and setup at the event, we had a lot of traffic come through many people were very interested in our product and excited about what it can do for them as well as the ingredients in the product, this was definitely the demographic we are after.

I think we gave out anywhere from 60-75 free samples that included brochures and business cards. I would say the event was a huge success. We also ran the event at 230 P.M and my wife watched the booth during, 3.6 miles with I think 18 obstacles. We had a blast but I am extremely tired just got a project done for my computer college class I have one more paper to write after church tomorrow then I may think about relaxing the remainder of the weekend.... =)

Awesome DAY! excited to see how our website traffic will look in the next week. Also I have been reading the book "Tipping Point" I hope one of the people who took samples will be a connector, or a Maven and get our product off the ground!! =)

May 13 (Shut up body time to run)

Great news, I was told we are going to be able to setup a both at the Emerald Coast Mud Run and at a discounted price, we are only going to pay $250 dollars which is half the normal fee, this is fine with me as I really like the charity the Mud Run is supporting, which is run by Heart of the Bride and is a charity for orphans, so considering the $250 is going to a great cause and last year this event had over 11 thousand people come though it I think we will get a lot of good exposure and hopefully maybe make some good contacts among the vendors while we are there.

Home
Seems like everyone in the house is getting sick =(, I felt a little sick today but I think it is being mitigated by all the health smoothies I have been drinking lately, we recently got a Ninja Ultima and my dark green vegetable intake has increased dramatically as well as other good foods such as flack seed and other fruits and vegetables. Anyway I felt like I may be getting a little sick and did not want to go on my jog, which only meant now I had to go on this jog....... I needed to make myself do this for discipline reasons, and create a better perspective for future challenges. I ended up running 4 miles twisted my angle pretty hard on the trail run halfway through but was able to finish it out and felt better after the run. Ankle is a little sore but I will survive.

Work
Nothing spectacular, I work nights which is unfortunate because I can setup the booth Friday night so I don't have to set it up so early this Saturday, but I may be working and not able to take advantage of that.

Business
- Created Fliers that look good, got a good plan for this Saturday and how to present my product to potential customer, but I also want to talk to other vendors and start networking.
Really happy the booth worked out excited for Saturday to come.
- Web designer e-mailed today and will start the website renovations soon =)

Misc
Almost finished the Book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" Loved this book a lot! Read the first half twice now to absorb it a bit better. Next book to read is going to be "7 Characteristics of Successful People"

Trying to get a little better each day!

May 12 2015 (Game Plan)

The more I study successful people the more patterns I see, one of which is "Never start a day without ending that day". So first thing in the morning I will either go on a jog if I'm short on time, or to the gym and while working out or running I will plan at least 3 objectives to complete that day to claim a successful day.

Today.

Home
No house showings today, just had to take a dog to the vet still made it to the gym and had a good workout. I need to finish a few things in the house but nothing on a deadline.

Work
Pretty busy, but got off a little early thinking about not staying up tonight for "Personal Growth" learning but catching up on a little sleep, last night was rough I may have gotten 3 hours of sleep, not feeling to bad right now, but I am thinking I may catch up on sleep and if I wake up early 5 a.m I will study another language or play the piano.

Business
Sad to say nothing significant was done today for the business the website has not been updated, but I cannot complain to much because my designer is doing it for free. No word back on the Mud Run booth, I plan on contacting Andrew Thursday to see what is going on, I am guessing since we did not meet our quota for getting people to sign up they do not want to give us a discounted booth. I am hoping by Thursday they will know how many vendors they have and if spots are open will allow us to use one.

Misc
I need to accomplish at least 2 things a day for the business. I'm trying to evaluate myself to see if I am giving enough effort, I feel extremely busy in other parts of life, but I"m sure others have persevered through much worse. Thinking it is time to plan better and suck it up.

May 11 2015 (Following Babies with a Vacuum)

I just realized I failed, I missed a day. I'll have to create a system to remind me daily to contribute to my blog.

Home
- Today me and my wife had to get the house clean and ready to show for potential buyers, that is easier said then done with a 1 and 3 year old in the house. we managed to get it in good shape but I do not know how many times a week we could handle that task.

Business
- I did contact the admin about setting up a booth at the Mud Run, I am hoping when I get out of work tonight I will have a text message saying we are cleared to setup a booth at a discount rate, fingers crossed.
- The website should be updated anytime now with a new theme, and added information to get potential clients past the tipping point to make a purchase!

School
- two more weeks in this semester, after this I will be taking a semester or two off to get ready for the move and do some work mandated education courses.
- This semester has not been to bad, hate taking next semester off but I don't think I have to many options.

Misc
- Decided to learn a language in my (spare time) haha well I sometimes get home at 10 and stay up until midnight trying to do something productive, so I will use that quite time to 1. Learn Latin and Spanish, 2. learn to play the piano.

I like this new format for my blogs and think I will continue the rest like this. until I find a better one that is.

Cheers,

May 9 2015 (Maintain The Chain)

Trying to maintain the chain and add a entry daily. It is Saturday and the first one that I was buckled down with a ton of house remodeling work so we took the girls to the Zoo, we had a lot of fun but them being only 1 and 3 years old we only stayed a few hours. Now we are about to run a few errands  and I need to get some homework done.

I'm at somewhat of a standstill on my business tasks, waiting on the website updates to come in, and waiting on word back from Heart of The Bride about the booth setup. I could put together a few paragraphs to add to the webpage including what the benefits of each supplement are. I am also trying to find the balance between working to hard and taking some time off without feeling lazy. Basically my current priorities are kids and family, business, school work... with real work in their somewhere... not saying I have a sound priority list right now but it is working for now.

May 8

I have begun an overhaul on my website www.mentalgiantsnutrition.com I noticed I have been getting quite a bit of traffic but no anonymous purchases. I am updating it with more of a Nootropics theme and adding some information that explains what the vitamins do and what is in each pill.

Work was pretty rough today, usually I will get a few minutes to read my books in-between processes, but today we spent the whole time chasing our tails with no downtime and making little headway. Pretty beat right now, but still need to do some of my homework for college because I have not touched any of it this week and would like to get at least a few assignments done.

Also been doing a lot of remodeling we have recently put our house up for sale so I tore out all the carpet put in wood floors, and painted all the walls. This was not the easiest for my kids all they new was Dad was home but they couldn't play with him, so we are taking them to the zoo tomorrow as bit of a celebration that for the most part everything is done with the house.

Goals / To Do List

  • Website overhaul is looking great, need to link vitamins to webMD facts.
  • Going to get 2 homework assignments done before bed.
  • Need to contact Heart of the Bride about setting up a booth and how much it will cost.
  • Decidec to Learn Latin, need to practice at least 30 minutes a day.
  • Blog Everyday as a means to keep record of my progress / monitor my thoughts and goals.

Day of Commitment

I need to start committing to certain activities daily no matter what to build up my commitment muscles. I decided this blog will be among one of those activities, so if you start reading these try not to judge to hard because I will be doing this daily as a recount of what I have done that day or want to do.
This will provide me with a few benefits, first it will play a role as the voice on my shoulder ensuring I attempt to be productive daily, but more importantly it will allow me to look back at the thoughts and ideas I had in the past and grow from that knowledge and as a aid to recount what worked and what did not.

Todays Goals.

  • Read 4 Chapters in Dale Carnages book "How to win friends, and influence people"
  • Work on Website. (Theme, add Nutritional information, add free 30 day money back guarantee".
  • Finish at least 50% of this weeks homework.
  • Go on a 30 minute jog.
Todays Results

  • Sent an e-mail to website designer requesting changes, working on information explaining the benefits Simply Focus has for the Natural, Energy, Focus aspects of the product. I think the 30 day money back guarantee will hopefully get potential customers over the tipping point to purchase the product. <----I should have done this along time ago because everyone who has tried the product so far has liked it a lot.
  • Run complete 33 min in FL at noon, good times.
  • 3 chapters in on How to win Friends and Influence people.
